What is a HEPA filter in air purifiers? I can't find out if it a filter you have to replace or if it is one you can wash out. I need details. Thank you

First you clean them for a while until they simply cannot be reused any more, then you need to buy a replacement .

In this era and age, how do air purifiers help us? I see them on newspaper ads all the time. I.e.: SHARP HEPA Plasmacluster Air Purifier...

Yes, people do not die, but life can be better, especially for those with problems like asthma .
They can remove pollen from the air, particulates from car exhausts, pet hair and dander in the air, your skin cells floating in the air, etc .

I am tossing around the idea of purchasing an ion air purifier to go in my collection room to keep the dust off my larger pieces that will not fit in cabinets. I am using compressed air cans to clean them now but I am getting tired of the never ending...

Do you have a recommended air purifier for someone working in oil and alkyd? The most toxic fumes are generally coming from Galkyd, Gamsol, Turpentine, etc. Would you recommend the Aller Air filters? Which ones are best for the above environment?

I just ordered some Oreck "DualMax" Air Cleaners for my home.
There the ones with the filters you just wash with soapy water and rinse.
Just curious if anyone else out there has one in their home and how do you like them?

We have an electrostatic air cleaner on our furnace.

Any Sharp Purifier will suffice.
They are quiet and well built. Be diligent and you won't over pay if you find them on sale. Why buy a $400 CR "recommended" unit if a $100 unit does the same job.
