"Air Purifiers"

We've been looking at getting an air purifier for our home primarily because we have two cats and we have a family member who is allergic to them. He cannot come and visit as much as he'd like, and even though we clean and vacuum like crazy, it doesn't seem to help. Does anyone here have any experience with air purifiers, specifically when it comes to pet dander? source

I have never had a commercial air filter, though I'm sure they are nice to have! I did want to add that one cheap and attractive way to clean the air is to have houseplants! There are several that are really good for air filtering, although they all are to some degree. Some of the good ones are gerbera daisies, philodendrons, spider or airplane plants, and peace lilies. source

I think that would be pretty difficult to find an air purifier to neutralize the smell, but try cooking some cinnamon in a kettle about half full of water and the smell may over power the neighbors cooking. I wonder if an air purifier would take the smell out but it might clean the air. source

Hey everyone after having a bit of a play with my air purifier in my JZX100 Chaser and besides the fact it smells like rain it got me thinking how does it actually work? If it purifies the air is there a filter i need to change? Also which models did the air purifer come out in as i have seen some chasers with and without this option? source

Leela-I beg to differ- I think it is insane - Its also an addiction . And yes , certainly there are ppl who value their health to the point of obsession about being free from other ppl's smoke and on the other end of that scale is the person who just cant quite overcome self-stimulation cuz of the lack of emotional intensity necessary to defeat the addiction . source
