This is a serious philosophical question. Many people cite honor as a virtue, and many people have different definitions for it. I looked in a dictionary for a definition of the term honor, and it said many different things, quite a few of which conflicted...

The problem is that you have a few different sets of codified behaviour in different places, which are all referred to as honour because that's easier than using different terms each time .
