I would like to use anti virus integration with my .net application when uploading files using the application. Has any anti virus API available for .Net?

I use ClamWin on my Desktop, and it's built on the open-source Clam AntiVirus libraries... .
Why not install the antivirus software on the receiving server? That way you could keep the definitions updated, which may not happen on the uploading client app .

I want to install an anti-virus, but the downloads (AVG) need me to connect to the internet to install. Isn't it dangerous to connect to the internet before I've installed the anti-virus?
Oh, and this is an ancient laptop and I've just re-installed Win...

I am having a trouble enabling Symatec Anti-Virus auto-protect feature
For some reason, after right click and choosing Enable Auto-Protect , anti-virus is not turning the option on.
Where should I look to enable the feature?

I use it on virtual machines a lot, and it doesn't .
Version of AVG Anti-Virus is very lightweight.

I'm trying to install Windows 7 and it says that I need to turn off my anti-virus. I'm running AVG Anti-Virus Network Edition 8.5 and I can't figure out how to turn it off. How do I turn it off?

Open the AVG 8.5 Control Center, by right clicking on the AVG icon... .
Uninstall AVG temporarily.
Or ...
2 options:
start > run > type services.msc and click OK
stop all AVG related services .
Right-click on the system tray AVG icon and click Exit .

I am using it on a Windows 7 Ultimate x64 ans it's really neat! Works like a charm!!!
It's not taking that much memory but new computers comes with at least 1go of ram and more so that's not an issue.... .
I strongly recommand Symantec Endpoint Protection.

Search for something unmentionable and dl the executable ones.

For Browser, It really depends on your browsing....
For lightweight antivirus, honestly - I think Eset Nod 32 is actually lighter on resources, but it has gone downhill so much in recent releases, the only one I would recommend is Microsoft Security Essentials .

With the growing.
However, its never done that well in the anti-virus tests.
Mainly because its free.

It has a small memory footprint and ....
I am happy to report that the newest version performs much better .
As many of you know, Symantec products were not the best during the last few years .
My organization uses Symantec Endpoint Protection (version 11).
