Get a proper 'bee hotel' and put....
Last year (or maybe the year before) on Spring Watch they showed a bee move a Barn Owl out of a nest box!
Poor Bluetits, but thats life I guess! The bumbles are more at risk than the bluetits .
I think the bees will win.

I've checked with the local bee collecting "bod" and he confirmed them as bumbles as there ...

The next morning I moved the hive to the new spot and left the grass in the entrance... .
At night armed with a torch and some sort of protective veil I stuffed the box entrance with dry grass .
I've never moved bumbles before but have moved a honeybee hive .

If I get a chance I will try and get the bird box tomorrow, I have to

If he doesn't return....
There's not an awful lot for him to do until the eggs hatch; he will though, probably take over brooding duties occasionally to allow the female to to feed etc .
Hi Sue and a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Staff and Moderators .

We have a blue tit nest in a bird box which seems to have been abandoned.Blue tits are still visiting the box and looking in. do I remove the eggs from the old nest ? might blue tits still be looking for nesting places or is it too late now?

I would agree that it is best to leave it alone as I thought that our bird house had been abandoned too but in fact it is not...there... .
I would leave well enough alone.
If the adults are still visiting the box where the nest is, it may not be abandoned .
