Hello forumers blu ray, I had just recently started collecting blu rays, then I discovered that sony's going to come out with new 4k technology.
I'm afraid blu rays going to die out and be replaced by 4k just like hd dvd.
Should i abandon blu ray all ...

Many new blu-ray discs will not play on some old players because the player needs to be updated, if it is possible, to play the things that keep changing in blu-ray software on a regular basis.

This probably won't be in the BOGOF, since I haven't seen any of the other double packs in previous BOGOF's .
However, I have decided I will wait for the Disney BOGOF's from now on .

A couple of years ago, there was the question who would be the successor of the DVD, the Blu-Ray disk or the HD-DVD. Now in 2009 I have to admit that I don't know why Blu-Ray won. Can anyone help me?

I can't believe Win7 doesn't have Blu-Ray support yet. Having plugins open in the background breaks the 10Ft experience. PowerDVD (came with blu-ray player) is unusable from the couch.
Are there any comprehensive packages (paid or otherwise) that will...

It to be able to play on all blu ray players in blu ray format, i was just testing out a short clip to see to dvd or blu-ray discs and watch them that way.

Does anybody have an opinion about backing-up servers on blu-ray disks?
I always have a security backup on disks, and I already switched from DVDs to DVD-DL a few weeks ago, but I have 3 double Layer DVDs to burn every week... I was wondering...

That would be an expensive coaster advantage of the larger... .
That Blu-ray disks are about as reliable as regular DVD - certainly not significantly better or worse or less reliable the actual burning process is for Blu-Ray vs DVD.
