Ductless Mini Splits AC Interconnect Wiring.... I've always used 14-3 UF when wiring these types of units, but i've been seeing a lot of AC guys using 18-4 CL2 shielded wiring for this interconnect....

If the dogs and kids won't be all into your stuff, a single-head mini-split with the head in the open kitchen/family area may be able to handle it all if you leave the doors open.
With that approach there may be some room-to-room temperature differences...

We're planning a move and I'm thinking about cooling what will be the new server room. The "server room" was built as a laundry room and I plan to attached the AC exhaust to the dryer vent. Googling "portable air conditioner" gives me a flood of results...

Although I've never personally used one, I have the same suspicion regarding the 'composite' ODU pads. It seems like it would be much easier to just slap down one of those plastic pads, bolt the ODU to it and call it a day. But then I'd be one to lose...
