That being said, and not having used PC-BSD at all? I have used PC-BSD 9,FreeBSD 9,GhostBSD 9 rc2.None of them are faster than linux.But that's just my example, OpenBSD ....

I run pure FreeBSD and I can get a system up with a lot of knowedgable people to help you with any issues you may have .

Please verify! ** I'm not at a PCBSD machine right now, but on Linux I can verify ntfs read/write ability in the kernel by checking for mkfs.ntfs with Code: which mkfs.ntfs I assume this is similar with PCBSD .

As long as GTK3 works on PC-BSD then Cinnamon should the original poster, PC-BSD can replace Windows in many situations.

I was tempted to try PC-BSD 9 but I see there is an issue with Intel Graphics and 3D acceleration on the8thstar? I first tried PC-BSD in a Vbox from a CD and got real graphics issues with KDE, had to use.
