Then, and it's not optional, run the McAfee Consumer Product Removal....
But first, uninstall McAfee from "Programs and Features".
There are free ones like Microsoft Security Essentials.
I'd replace McAfee with a much better alternative.

use it....

Further still.
Otherwise, at least make sure that there version of AOL is updated.
Has *both* McAfee and Norton? Ouchy! (inside joke for Oregonians.)
Add AOL to the mix, and I can the user out of AOL.

I have run Malwarebytes and cleaned up some ninor problems but did not resolve my main problem as I still cannot connect to Internet.
What do you suggest I do?

I once tried AOL's free virus scanner
it about an hour ago and installed the free 'McAfee Security Center - AOL Special
edition' as it combines.
Will need a 3rd party firewall to control outgoing
connections .

I am experiencing several unusual symptoms of malware:
1. Search engine redirects.
2. Can't turn on the McAffee Firewall in security center (I try, and it turns on for a second, and then off)
3. It appears that the firewall is on when I look in McAffee...
