I want to change the six lug rear end to a five lug rear end and I was told that one from an S10 would work, is that true? If not, any suggestions on what would work.

You can, however, put 8.8 28 spline axles into your 7.5 rear end second link, That will work, but....
The 8.8 means the ring gear is 8.8" in diameter, 7.5 ring gear is 7.5" .
And 438 rwtq= ) You need a 8.8 rear end to have a 8.8.
