If I've purchased one license for Windows XP, is it legal to run a second copy on the same machine (in a second partition, under Linux) with vmware?

As I understand it, it kind of depends on which version of XP you have, s the license sets different terms for each of the different versions .
Well, it's unlikely anyone is going to complain about it .

I am trying to boot a computer from a disk that I created with an ISO file because I need to recover the passwords to start Windows. When the computer is starting I can get to a menu before Windows XP starts but I am only able to choose from one option...

Bob I am using Ophcrack The most common mistake is when folk put the .ISO onto the CD .
However you are asking for password RECOVERY which means you are using some title I can't guess .
The password RESET disk I use is called NTPASSWD.

If you don't want to get dirty with windows programming but still want to activate windows and simple stuff like that, I highly recommend checking out Autoit .... .
If you want to activate a window you have to use SetActiveWindow() .
From a batch file, no.
