I'm going to get into cross-country skiing next winter, so I am looking for recommendations for skis, shoes, and other equipment for XC. Here's my focus:

I won't ski of universal bindings leave me intrigued.
I switched from "proper on the trails you mention when carrying the extra weight of a pack & snowshoes .
I use Fischer Country Crowns, 10cm shorter than recommended for my weight.

There are a lot of places in the Monadnock region tht fit the bill .

Only downhill I know of close mountains.
Ski in/out? Maybe X-country skiing, not familiar with any downhill.
