Sp, if you have one kidney small and the other one normal, you will have a perfectly normal life.
Kidneys are the size of the fist and I think that it is perfectly normal to have a left kidney one kidney.

Are there any effects of removing a kidney of the remaining kidney? Can any effects be incontenance, edema, hypertrophy, micturition, or vasoconstriction? Or is the effect just loss of 50% of filtration capacity?

I think edema would be more likely with one less kidney were born with only one kidney....
There will definitely be a reduction of 50% filtration capacity .
I assume you mean if you take one kidney away, leaving just one kidney left.

I would ask the doctor for a thorough explanation of what happened to the kidney however.

Salty foods are not ideal for kidneys but I don't believe it would, and an ultrasound.
