The preferred address for executable images is $004 by convention on 32-bit Windows an EXE image is so infrequently....
Change EXE's image base is almost useless unless you're doing some very low-level dirty hack relocation upon loading.

I didn't know that /proc/pid/mem becames available when I attach it by ptrace .

It's better to attach via ptrace and use /proc/[pid]/mem tro read/write process memory .

Modules (like DLL's and .EXE's) can be loaded at a random location every time the program starts, that's why it's prefered to use modulename+offset notations
Older .exe's don't do that and always load at 004 so just statically using....
