Hi out there.
I am not new to joomla but this time a need to replicate a flash website in a fresch joomla install 2.5.4
I hope someone can guide me to choose the best templates for doing this and how can i achieve the efect of the site title of the original...

Try the following.
By selecting all pages, they are of a darker color, as if they were disabled.
I manage 3 joomla sites and the problem persists ...
Same deal with "except those selected".
It on every page.

Is there a way to style a menu so that a button / link can be a certain colour?
E.g. For the top menu can I have Button 1 with a style of background-color: red, then button 2 with a style of background-color: blue ?

You need to do this for "each" menu link item as each the font/color....
For the item add "margin-left - make the font/color, etc changes you want.
How?
Easy.
To get rid of the text generate by Joomla! for the button name.

The front page of our site has four columns for editorial content which makes the site look too busy. Is there a way to change the template layout so that we can reduce the number to only three columns?

For your home page and change the column setting from 2 to 1.

I have well over 4,000 articles on my site here and the site has been working fine. Until today.
All of a sudden when a user logs into the site, they cannot view any registered articles. They were able to do so in the past and I have not added any components...
