Just had a nice unexpected print sale from a wedding (love it when people value what we do enough to buy big prints even though they have the disk of images), and it is time for us to buy a 100mm macro lens. Been putting if off for a while before detail...

Someone who's really into macro and doesn't do it on the fly like I did would without the L lens so I can testify on it's quality but the IS is CRUCIAL in the macro world.
So the IS was handy.

I know the zeiss has a good reputation, and i am guessing it is a true 1:1 macro capable lens?
are there other excellent options to consider here?
i have the nikon 55 micro and it is a nice lens, but would like to add something in the 100mm range for ...

Arguably the best 100mm macro lens ever built is the Leica 100mm f/2.8 APO Macro Elmarit-R.
I have the old 172E version and it is great .

Tokina 100mm 2.8 macro lens in excellent, brand new condition! I love this lens.. and hate to sell it. But I have my eyes on another lens.. and can't justify both lenses.
It is in brand new condition, with all parts and manuals.. in the original box.

The lens is very light, so to focus, which does slow it down .
Pretty fast, for a macro.
Oh i used to have 1 of these but in different brand name, very sharp lens just like any macro, does! and how fast/slow the focus is?

Why not the PENTAX D FA MACRO 100mm F2.8 with WR use manual focus here...a class above is the zeiss 100mm but sadly i am unable to find a PK mount with nex7, m43 and others if desired.....
On Ebay which looks like pretty good value.
