I seriously doubt Apple will drop the 17" screen.
I don't think it is going anywhere.
To this thread, Apple will be better off making a 19" versus a 17"

According to this analyst (yeah, I know...), they will.
This is completely opposite of what I expected. Furthermore the article talks about a new 13" MacBook Pro with slimmer design, flash storage and no optical drive.

Drop the 17" Pro and Air-ize the 13" Pro while keeping the 13" and 17" Pros (no optical, SSDs....
The 17 should stick around unless the 15 can meet or beat its resolution.
