I recommend the Wilson Combat magazines -

Or the Metalform magazines (the link I have is to the Elite 8 .45 mag they make - Springfield Armory uses these mags in their higher end guns) .

What the 4506 shares with the 1911 DAO 1911 to be a 1911.....
The only similarities are they both are .45ACP using "1911" as a generic term for a single stack pistol.
I have a 1911 and a 4506, they are not close at all.

Some guys can.
I will admit 98% of the time is the G19, but did carry my 1911 for about a year.
By the way, what do you carry? I switch between my Springfield 1911 GI I built and my Glock 19.
For carry.

The grips on the knife are Officer size because the 1911 Knife is Officer size
The grips in front....
ML I'm not following your question.
I am assuming that it takes standard 1011 grips.
Much for the 1911 (not Officer's) knife with no grips.

New 1911 Sig
Got a pretty good deal for the deployment. They offered an engraved Sig 1911 Nightmare for $899 shipped. Been wanting a 1911 for a while now and seemed like a decent deal.

I am considering buying a new addition to the family - a 1911. What would suggest as a good medium level 1911 to purchase - make, model and manufacturer?

A lot is making a bad 1911 right now.
Good quality and lifetime warranty.
Look into the springfield armory line of 1911's.

I missed out on the Colt 1911 re-issue and so far have not found one as a shooter. I like the feeling of the frame with out the A1 cutouts and the straight smooth frame features.
Who else makes one like this or do I just have to keep hunting up a replica...
