The 1st gear is very short and the OD is shallow at only... .
It wasn't rated for as much torque and the gear ratios are different .
It is the same style trans as the 5.0's T5 .
The rear is a 7.5" and should have 3.45 gears when mated with the T5 transmission .

To give up your 1st Mustang my 88 gt done this once i changed the starter an soilnoid it fixed my mounted solenoid, had like 5 of them do it from autozone, bought a motocraft and it fixed it.
