Yes, all Core 2 Duo chips are 64-bit capable, that is includes the EM64T feature put a 64-bit OS on your system the Core 2 Duo chips will handle it properly.

It might be method dependant - i'm using....
VT/NX dosen't need to be disabled for OS X to work in VMware in my experience .
Probably you have overlooked, it is in the Extreme Tweaker menu under Overclocking section .
VT-x is also sometimes referred to as NX.

I have a core 2 duo desktop, but in taskman i can only see one panel in the performance tab, where i'm certain there should be two. Also, in perfmon, under Processor -> % Processor Time, there is only "_Total" and "0" instance.
