The irony is that World War Two was a direct result of the Depression. The extremists in Germany and Japan would never have gotten in power, and Mussolini never would have gone expansionist if the depression had never happened. And is something that those who want a total economic collapse because they think it will result in a 'better world with the old system gone" should think about. Severe depressions almost always give birth to wars . source

In History, I am especially interested in learning about past and present wars. My favorite war was WWII and my favorite battle within it was Omaha Beach otherwise known as Operation Overlord. Does anyone know the total deaths of all soldiers from the US Army and Casulties in WWII? source

That Germany was going to start a war in the 20th century was inevitable. Pretty much proven by the fact that in actuality they did it again. Had they waited much longer to start WW1 they may never have done it at all or have been beaten more thoroughly. Then they would likely have never tried again or at all later. I think WW1 although lost by Germany cost the allies more in relative power. source

One interesting aspect of post war construction was the forced slave labor of German soldiers. An estimated 2 million of them were enslaved by Eisenhower when he classified them as disarmed enemy forces. Some of them didnt return from the Soviet Union until 1957 and an estimated 500K-1million didnt return at all. But these troops were sent to war torn countries as slave labor to rebuild. source
