First question: every once and a while my wireless mouse seems unresponsive. Is it possible that my wireless router is interferring with my wireless mouse? (both are on a 2.4Ghz frequency.)
Second question: Shouldn't my wireless mouse be able to work ...

I am not very familiar with the 2.4 wireless....
If you will look on the paper work that came with it or on the box it should tell you it's range .
That is line of sight.
Usually less than 10 or 15 feet.
Most wireless keyboards and mice have a very linited range .

At the basic....
If the machine will only run the front-end services, the answer is still most likely yes .
If the one server will be running all components in the stack (HTTP service and database service, and whatever else) then the answer is absolutely yes .
