You can either use IRM or password protection....
Below is a sample macro that is selecting a piece of text, enabling it for editing, and then locking the rest of the document .
I think you can only do it by selecting the paragraphs that will not be protected .

I have an old dll that uses the Microsoft Visual C++ 2003 (7.1) run time package. Unfortunately I don't have that DLL around anymore. Short of reinstalling VS2003, is there another way to get the run time redistributable dll?

You may however be able for: Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86).
At least that is what a post on the microsoft forum says.
