I have read many different posts here and there are many people with Samsung tvs and are having the same white and black snow-like dots on the set. I, too am having the same issue. I am reading mixed reviewed on some people who are able to get this fixed...

Side of the screen is 1" higher than the left side, almost like he put the chip/LCD back HL-T6187SAX/XAA, puchased in Feb 2008, has been flawless until last week (May 9th) when white.

Luckily I had bought it on a great suggested that a different DLP model (with a retail price $600 higher) was a more fitting comparable.
Mine was a 62" Toshiba DLP.

In April 06, I bought a 62 inch Toshiba DLP from BB. I took out the 4 year warranty, here is the timeline so far
Issue 1 - (14 days with no TV)
Feb 2007 - Lamp blew, called into 800 number. Advised service visit in 5 days. Service visit, tech diagnosed...

That's the case for ALL LCD screens.
But check out some more detailed, IMHO.
