Will Suguri make the Olympic team if she finishes ahead of Nakano and Suzuki?
I love Nakano too and hope she is the one who makes the Olympic team. What a shame she was 1st after the SP of last yrs Nationals and finished 5th place and unable to go to worlds last yr. I think she willl finish higher at Olympics than Suzuki and Suguri too.

Is there any lasting prestige for winning any Olympic competition?
I think its has to do with them being every 4 years. I mean if its not an Olympic year, does anyone watch swimming, volleyball, or skiing? The X Games help with some of the people like Shaun White, Jacobellis, etc. But, you're right they do get forgotten too quickly.

Medal totals don't mean anything, due to the wide disparity in different types of sports and how they determine medal winners, and also how many medals they hand out. They are basically there for people who like to puff their chests, and that's it.

Is Olympic Gold Lysacek's to lose right now?
The way things are going now do you think the Olympic Gold medal is Evan Lysacek's to win or lose. The way he is being scored now it almost seems that way to me. While he was never my favorite skater either, and his style still isnt my cup of tea, what I am seeing is an amazing command, energy, and attack to his performances and I think that is the biggest thing giving him the edge his competitors.

Olympic Luge - why different starting points for men and women?
What's the reason that men's and women's Olympic luge start at different places at on the track? It's not like the women's marathon is shorter then the men's.
