With the new October 2009 MacBook, it seems to be the better machine compared to the 13 inch Macbook Pro (ignoring the looks) ? Am I missing something ?

MBP does....
If you do not need/use some of these features and just going to go with base configurations the Macbook may be for you .
Separate audio in/out.
Firewire.
SD slot.
RAM up to 8GB instead of 4.
Matte screen instead of glossy.
MBP has more options.
