As the question stated, I have no clue, too much burst damage come too quickly for me to do anything but to look like a jumping clown
I have about 20k unbuffed health and 550 resilience, no other class seems this helpless.

Spec makes a difference too, as different specs will have different strategies =P as a rogue, arc mages die in 4 globals... .

Well, first of all, what class are you? Different classes will have different ways of beating down on Arcane Mages .

You should have at least 10 man dungeon quality gear.
And here are special requirments for each class. All values unbuffed.
Healers:
Holy Priests: +2000 spellpower, 350 mp5
Holy Paladins: +2000 spellpower, 35% crit, 90 mp5, mana 20k
Trees: +1800 spellpower...

Now Phase 5 is fixed our kin is going to start working on getting this fight done on T2. The trouble is, it's still very very hard so I want everyone in the raid to bulk up their survivability.

I've come across a LOT of posts of people asking how to survive inferno, if DPS specs are viable, or if 2-h are worth it. And all the responses I see are "no you can't". I will clarify that I am NOT in act 3/4 yet. So, I haven't really gotten the brunt...

So it is possible I tried playing the monk as DPS, but got utterly destroyed by elites and had to resort to lots of kiting and waiting for cooldowns... .
You're more patient than I: so much kiting on a melee character destroys my soul .
