zoom-more zoom than what I have available to me under anything short of about $5000 in the LENS ONLY the best of all worlds, but sadly they are MUCH out of your price range.

I understand that primes generally have larger available apertures in comparison with zooms. However if you do not take advantage of the larger aperture (i.e, low light, faster shutter speed, or creative aspects), are you better off with L zooms?

The X100 is a cool cameraSystem first, then camera.
It seems to be the best option for what I want out of a portable camera.
