I have a blackberry Curve 3G 9330. It sais I do have 3G in My area, But It dosen't say 3G on the top of my phone Like it Should. Their is NEXTEL tower right behind my house, Can i not get service off of the nextel tower? I mean Sprint did BUY out Nextel...

When you're away from a Wi-Fi signal, provided you've 'Switched on Wireless' it'll pick up a 3G signal and display 3G,EDGE or GPRS...
3G switches off when you're connected to Wi-Fi.

Why use a 3G that will allow you to use the phone's 3G radio to share internet with a desktop/laptop PC...it's like tethering without having to pay extra....
I believe the HTC Hero is also Windows Mobile 6.1 .
And that's out of the box.

You cannot choose to use wifi vs 3G....
The iPhone SDK abstracts out (in most cases) your connection type .
You app should be aware of the network status whether it be EDGE, 3g or WiFi.
You can't programatically start a 3g connection.

Does anyone know how to determine the active network type at the specific moment: 2G , 3G or WiFi .
For example, at a specific moment there could be enabled 3G , but the used network type could be 2G .

If your 3g device supports Windows 7 mobile broadband , you can just select the connect.
