They write 'to the 6th grade level the 5th grade....

Good idea given average intelligence of a person is around 8th grade level.

This will be his 3rd year ona as I know the kids ....
My DS is in 4th grade and had his tryouts in the fall.
But IMO 3rd grade is a little young to start that unless you think on his skills.

Am I the only one that isn't truly claiming grade levels for my kids? I enjoy reading all the x grade threads but honestly we don't try to cram anything in within a year but seek to find curriculum that fits them where they are and then we progress forward...

I will say that my kids are in the grade level they would be in for PS, but I don't really care declarIng grade by what they would be in ps.
Any tips on how to do this? I have a combined 2nd and 3rd grade as well as a combined 4th and 5th grade. How does one teach like that? Keep the one grade busy reading while dealing with the other? Problem is sometimes the group that I am not attending...
