Title says it all. Got my bonus number today and I have until 2/9/12 decide how much of it gets moved to my retirement plan. Do I put it in my 401K (nice sized balance) or use it to start the funding on the Roth-401K ($0 balance) that my company offers...

At retirement, when you, ideally, will not be earning any wages? Wouldn't gains from cashing out 401k stuff comparing it to the taxes faced in retirement? Is there a point where traditional IRA or 401k makes of the deal.

It's nice to have some post-tax retirement money and see how much you can put away....
If you don't need the tax break, I would put as much as possible in a Roth 401K, especially if you don't qualify for a Roth IRA.

I assume that the amount you borrow from the 401K is no longer invested.
Borrowing from a 401K but for the purpose of dropping PMI and lowering interest rates perhaps it is a worthy reason to do so.
