Hi guys. Been reading this forum for a couple weeks now and decided it was time to register so I could join in the discussions.
I just bought a used 450D with the two kit lenses, 18-55, and 55-250, with a set of filters and checked with eosinfo program...

Hi everyone,
I currently use a Canon 300hs point and shoot - great little camera for the size.
I'm interested in getting my first DSLR, but have repeatedly read that Canon DSLR's produce softer images than their compact cameras, and this gives me pause...

It's not that DSLRs produce....
"If you are reading that EOS DSLR's produce soft images with them.
If you are reading that EOS DSLR's produce soft images, you aren't doing yourself any favors with such limited research.
Sharpen afterwards, etc.

Upgrading 70-300IS USM - advice please!
Hi, I currently have a Canon 70-300 IS USM and I am finding it slightly soft at 300 end and also sometimes the AF hunts a bit and takes some time (much better than my old tamron 70-300)!
I am thinking of upgrading...

Sensors with 18 megapix : my old 100-400mm is not sharp enough for the sensor and gives really soft overtakes lens resolution leading to soft pictures
Moreover, these pictures can be hardly improved clearly shows that the sensor resolution....
