For 4k put the Quality to Original... people with Lower spec...

Got a question, hopefully someone can shed some light on it.
I am building a house, would like to future proof it for the 4K technology. Would a single Cat5 or Cat6 cable run the 4K resolution? Or would would I have to lay some other type of cable?
Please...

If I were building a house with a desire for futureproofing my investment...I wouldn't even consider CAT5... .
Maybe Cat6a cable extenders could handle 4K.
Never say never, but 4K over UTP might be asking too much.
Or Cat6 might work for 2K.

Has anybody had a way yet to test the 4K upscaling that is showing up in AVRs and AVCs (such as Onkyo)? It'll be nice when somebody with the Sony 4K 1000 can take a look at this to test the quality of the AVR upscaling.

This has been my question all along; "What format can leverage a 4k x 2k display?"
I realize there's not been any announcement, (at least none that I have heard of), of any 4k x 2k media they would update the media to handle this new tech....

This article says 4k is stupid we dont need it

This may not go over big on AVS, we are trend setters ahead of the technical curve. Id jump on 8k if it were reality.
What are your thoughts!

And from what I've read recently, when printed to 35mm, does the AVCHD at all, provided you can handle the 4K broken up into 4 "quadrants" each recorded on a separate SD "streams" you never need to mess....
So far I'm fine with 1080 resolution.

Hi
I am most enthusiastic for 4K. Projection is in my view the best way to present pictures. With 1080P, which is all we have right now, that medium is essentially 2 megapixels. So we have 24 MP cameras and 36 MP coming, but presentation is still 2MP ...

To really appreciate that extra resolution from a 4k source in one's home, one would need a 4k audience would IMHO deliver a lot more value than 4K.
