I've got some older hardware that needs a memory upgrade, and I was trying to determine what RAM would be the fastest on the platform. My platform takes DDR2 667MHz which is (slightly) more expensive than DDR2 800MHz for example. So here are the options...

If budget is the determining factor then go with the cheapest .
I personaly would use the 667MHz RAM, from memory memory is backwards compatible - the 800MHz will step down to 667MHz .

Goed begrepen.

It may be 1066 rather than 1333 memory-bus to FSB ratio .

Hello, Before I start I will state that I've looked this up, and maybe I'm not just understanding it, but there seems to be an issue with the memory. I have Windows 7 Pro 64, and there should be no reason I'm capped at 16GB. Here is some details I got...

I thought it would be useful to post the result of my attempt to upgrade the RAM of my TS-459 Pro. I have upgraded the RAM with one Kingston KVR800D2S5/2G module. This is a 2GB module with a CAS latency of 5. Sofar it has been flawless and functions great...

Forum: I currently am running my rig a GA X58A-UD7 / i7 920 D0 / 12g of G.Skill modules stably @ 4.0 but would like to flirt with tighter timings which should help push the rig to the next level. Here is what we have installed: 8g (2x2g) F3-12800CL7D-...

So either you live with increased latency or decrease....
(...) If you use two processors you double the latency for a given block size.
The TigerSHARC has.
Run slower or you have to increase your block size (and concomitant latency).

I'm looking for some memory that will be able to clock at least to 1600 (hopefully higher), but will also have the lowest latency possible at 1600 &/or 1333. I currently have an intel i7 930 @ 3.8 GHz with a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R motherboard and 3x 2GB...

I see lower latency (CAS 7) 2 GB sticks while latency....
I want the lowest latency that I can get at those speeds (I've seen people running anywhere from 6 for the combination of fastest speeds with lowest latency.
