Perhaps you should do something like....
Visual components are supposed to be manipulated only by the event-handling thread .
I have used JLabel.setText() successfully in 10.6.x in several swing apps, i suggest there is possibly something else at play here .

Guten Morgen,
habe von bekannten einen versuchten Laptop erhalten auf dem nix mehr ging. Es ist der Gema-Trojaner.
Mit Hilfe der Srcp.exe und dem Abgesicherten-Modus mit Eingabeaufforderung bin ich nun im System und Poste sämtliche Log.
Werde sie reineditieren...
