What would be the best way to keep a basement cool without using central air conditioning? like i think im about to buy an infrared heater to keep the basement heated now for the winter. but when it starts to get hot... what is the best way to keep it...

To experiment with it to get it just right but the good news is that a plain 6000 BTU w/u can and the ceiling is insulated I would suggest a 5000-6000 BTU unit for every 300-400 sq ft.

attached a small pulley and used it to drive think I've ever worked with air....
But the real

By using unadjusted source-fuel BTU data it will skew the calc to the high side, but you're a few orders of magnitude too low on the BTUs/CCF- 1 CCF= 102,000 BTU, not 1,020 BTU (But whats 100:1 between friends? :-) )

So far, I believe we are free of bugs. It has been months since I've seen anything and I finally sleep well at night. I don't believe that the chemical treatment works all that well, unless you think multiple spraying by professionals every 22- 24 days...
