The 64-bit version of IE can only host native 64-bit ActiveX controls and other 64-bit Web page compatible with 64-bit IE as most things are moving towards 64-bit.

Not with 100% certainty as you say the browser could be a 32bit version while the OS a 64bit.

Well, okay. There's Visual Studio 2008 and Embarcadero Delphi/Studio that are both able to create 64-bits .NET applications for Vista. And of course a lot of 32-bits applications will run on 64-bits Vista. If not, it's always possible to install VMWare...

To build for 64-bit is fairly trivial for most code, but the testing effort, and the support cost, don't though you "know" they should pass.

Has anyone else had issues using Redgate's .NET Reflector on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit? I'm getting an error saying:
"Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application."

That folder is virtualized in a 64-bit version.

The situation. The BBC iPlayer worked in IE8 before I upgraded to W2K8 R2. The BBC iPlayer works in Mozilla now! In IE8 the iPlayer tells me to get Adobe flash, when I go to the Adobe site I get mumbo jumbo about running 32-bit programs in 64-bit OS.
