I would not recommend to buy 720p TV sets these days.

So not exactly Blu-Ray related.. but Home Theater related at least. I just got a nice 1080p 32" LED TV - looks great, no complaints. It's for a bedroom, so I'm somewhat close to it. Blu-Rays are running in 1080p and look great. HDDVDs, however, are limited...

HD tv goes up to 1080i and all the HD channels on 1080i order is 4... .
It goes in this order from worst to best - 480i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p from worst to best - 480i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p.
1080i is superior to 720p.

So I have a 720p TV but for some odd reason it displays everything in 720p... is this not normal and could this possibly play into the fact that the settings on my TV don't look right?

This and notice that my TV resolution isn't 720p, it's 1080p (like when I play a movie/video game on my PS3, in the corner it says 1080p rather than 720p.) I was wondering two things.
Asus vh236h being a 24 inch monitor I dont think you would really be able to tell a difference from 1080p and 720p. So if a player was at an MLG event and they want to change the display settings to 720p cause thats what they like it is what they prefer...

99% of console games are sub-hd or 720p. I have a 1080p tv. Should I set my 360 to output at 720p or 1080p? Thanks.

Set the 360 to 1080p and let the G10 handle the rest..

Now, can I tell it's 720p (vs 1080p) absolutely, you can actually games are 720p or less (upscaled) and I purchase VERY FEW 1080p Blu Ray movies (cost).
Definitely DO NOT regret my purchase.
I just recently bought an HDTV and am setting up my 360 on it (don't have the HDMI 360). I am confused about the "settings" on the monitor output on the Xbox. I can choose between 480p, 720p, 1080p, and 1080i. I'm not really sure which one to choose on...

Your eye's at these sizes cannot the difference is between 720p and 1080p.
There is no meaningful difference between the 720p and 1080p resolution.
How much of a difference is their between a 720p TV and a 1080p TV? The TVs size would be around 19 - 22 inch

Note that there are no 1080p for any commercial channel to support....
Only send HD in 720p or 1080i because the additional expense of transmitting in 1080p is far too highYou will not see any difference on a screen smaller than about 40".
