I have read that many with vintage Heritage speakers with metal horns experience "horn ring." I have had my Cornwalls playing at concert levels, albeit briefly, and I'm not sure if my horns were ringing or not? Is it an obvious sound, subtle, or??? Just...

No doubt that the undamped Altec horns (811B and 511B, e.g.) ring like baskets make a similar kind of sound to the horns when unfamped.

What sort of frequency will the combination (811b horn & 808-8B 1.75") Comp play upto where one would benefit from adding a tweeter?
What is the upper limit I should bare in mind when researching tweeters to go over this combo...

I intend on crossing the 811b and 808-8b at 1.2khz..
Around with the crossover point -- some folks feel that the 811 horn should be crossed at 1200Hz system.

I want to build new crossovers for my A7s and want to know if anyone already has a design that works well. My drivers are the 416A and the 802C with 811B horn. Currently the crossovers installed are the N-800-D. Thanks for any info.

I think the N-800 is an 800 hz xover- good for the 511 lens set up .

I'm thinking the horn is an 811B For $150 I’d take find anything in pictures where the horn takes up the whole width of the cabinet.
Dust cap not showing prominatley makes me nervous.
