Has anyone seen tooling, or even a process concept to generate css sprites from an existing website's images, and css during the build process?
I should think the steps would be:

Index color formats like GIF and 8-bit PNG has to combine the sprite....
If you try to make sprites out of JPEG images the compression will easily bleed from one image to another causing artifacts.
Better than others for sprites.

The UGLIEST Pokemon sprites? Looking back to the days of the old 8-bit Pokemon world, I think when it comes to their graphics/sprites in the Pokemon Game Boy games, the Pokemon in Red and Blue look their ugliest! Some look OK, like Hitmonlee and Lapras...
