which used to work in Acrobat 7 and 8 (and was infact required to enabled editing of note/annotations/comments) appears to crash Acrobat 9.

It seems to have been fixed in update 9.1.
This is a known bug.
It has been reported to Adobe as a known bug .
It looks like you're not the only one with this problem .

I have 2 PDF apps installed: Adobe Reader 9 and Foxit PDF Reader. For whatever reason, Foxit PDF Reader is the default PDF plugin for Internet Explorer.
How do I make Adobe Reader 9 to be the default PDF plugin (short of uninstalling Foxit or reinstalling...

The file properties window will appear.
Right click > properties.
Have you tried to right click a pdf file and change it's association (under properties)? I tested and it worked (I also have foxit and adobe, even though I prefer foxit) .

Hi,
I saw that AR9 under Linux offers tabbing (opening several files under the same window with each having a tab of its own).
Does such an option exist for the Windows version?
(I'm using WinXP with AR 9.2.0)

I don't know about Acrobat Reader, but Foxit Reader is a freeware pdf viewer that opens.

Title says it all. I know this can be done in IE by creating an ActiveX object, but how do I do it in FF. The navigator.plugins['Adobe Acrobat'] object lets me know if it's installed or not, but it doesn't contain the version number. Any ideas?

Also, make sure you take into account that Macs don't need Acrobat Reader to render....
Navigator.plugins[n].name where n is the index of the Acrobat plugin is supposed have the version at least Reader 8, but can't tell versions 8 from 9.

Does anyone know of a good tool for managing updates to Acrobat Reader?
I've just noticed that there is yet another security update, and I'd love to find something as good as WSUS to manage it.
Do the third-party tools like Shavlik do the trick?

I don't know how you installed Adobe reader but if you want to uninstall it try these two keywords on the search box of Synaptic Package Manager... .
You can use 32 bit apps in 64 bit OS without any problem .
There is no 64 bit adobe reader for linux right now .
