My ASC and ABS light came and stayed on yesterday, what causes this and what shall I do?
Also when Idling on cold mornings, sometimes it stalls out ?
I am reluctant to run to the dealer, even though still under warranty.
Anybody has any Ideas ? Please...

ABS/ASC: I had the same problem, and I solved it by replacing the ABS pulse generators.

This is occurs only 70% of the time with 180k miles:
My abs light would come on (I think my asc too) after driving a couple of miles for the input!
And it seems....
Both the ASC/ABS Lights Immediatley as I Roll 2 feet Forward.

I had to code the DSC version to mine when I replaced it .
Try the sensors first as you may be one of the lucky ones! As far as I know, the abs unit will need to be coded to your car.

For a number of reasons, I'm planing to delete the ASC on my 98 M3. I've searched the archives here and it seems really straightforward. Avoiding the ASC light sees to be a toss-up between removing the bulb from the cluster and using a 10 ohm resistor...

New member here in Massachusetts and I have a question. Can the ASC option be retrofitted? I've a 09 RT and with the wet leaves in the fall and the residual salt and sand from winter in the spring the ASC seems like something I'd want.

ASC is simply software in the ECU that reduces engine output if the ABS wheel....
If that is the case, then ASC would probably use the cruise control module and the ABS module (both of whichTheoretically yes, but practically no.

Button works just wont turn asc off, and no problems with brakes at all..
Any brake issues? Also can you check for codes? Perhaps take it to a good independent BMW tech .

Hallo!
ich brauche nochmals euren rat zu dem ABS-Problem.
Das aktuelles Fehlerbild sieht so aus:
- nach einschalten gehen alle lampen erstmal aus!
- ab ca 42 km/h aufm Tacho (wird wahrscheinlich den u.g. 40.5 entsprechen) gehen die ASC + Airbag-Warnleuchten...
