I'm making a Flash app in Flash 10 and ActionScript 2.0 and need support for calling an EXE with some params and minimizing/close the application.

I recommend you also Upgrade your Browser....
Removing Adobe Flash Player and also in IE, Firefox going into your addons and removing the plugin, then go to the Adobe website and reinstall Adobe Flash Player.

Adobe Flash Player 11 update causes a lot of crashes! Work-arounds. The most recent Flash update (version 11) introduced a lot of instability to all versions of Opera on Mac.
Some suggested work-arounds:
Disable the Flash plug-in in Opera from opera:plugins...

or alternatively you can get flash from adobe

The situation. The BBC iPlayer worked in IE8 before I upgraded to W2K8 R2. The BBC iPlayer works in Mozilla now! In IE8 the iPlayer tells me to get Adobe flash, when I go to the Adobe site I get mumbo jumbo about running 32-bit programs in 64-bit OS.

If you don't have access to FB, set up your trace log (google ... .
When I run the project in debug mode using FB, however, it always catches them and prints them to the console and stops at a breakpoint .
For me, the alert box has always been inconsistent.

So, for Flash IDE 6 you had FP 6, for Flash....
They're usually called AVM1 and AVM2 (AVM stands version number used to match the player major release number.
There are currently 2 virtual machines in the flash player.
