So a few months ago I got a P0401 and did a lot of reading on mud and the FSM in an attempt to get things lined up for taking care of the problem. I am a poor mechanic but want to learn so figured I'd give tackling this problem a try.

The EGR vaccuum modulator is held.
Next unscrew the the 2 nuts holding the EGR valve to the upper air intake manifoldFor dissassembly of the EGR vacuum modulator and EGR valve.

I just did my blocker plate and now have a code of p0401. The question is should I unplug the egr and air intake valve wiring. If I should, please explain why.

1979 Chevy K20 , 383 stroker, Dual Ram Airyou need to turn the egr codes off with efi live or get a ecm with the codes turned off.
IMO, Just unplug the EGR.
Not working from being unplugged.

Up for sale is a 1996 -1997 Cobra EGR Crossover and air injection unit.
This came from a low mile 97' Cobra, the Cobra was upgraded with an 04 Cobra motor so of course there is no need for this.
Ford doesnt make these anymore and they are getting harder...

I just passed emissions without EGR would and looks completely stock....
EGR is part of the smog equipment so it helps to lower your it'll kick on if you don't disable the egr in the chip/tune.
Make sure to block off the lines.

I've got hold of a roadsport egr delete kit from FR&R Tuning and just wondering the best place to put the blank.
I assume it's best to remove all the pipes (the pipe between the egr valve and the egr cooler, and the pipe between the manifold and egr...

I also blocked it on the turbo manifold so nothing going into to the egr cooler too Whats the benefits of doing this on the A3 different places that I've seen so far.
Best blank it on the egr cooler and remove the cooler to intake pipe.

I had an EGR Flow code on the ECU of my 1.4 Golf and taking off the EGR....
The EGR I sourced was brand new and was approx €95Basically yes, give it a clean first before you do anything.
I've been off air for the last few days.

Im pretty sure when i blanked the egr off on my old vectra cdti that used more fuel aswell, but this wasnt bypassed as to move the restriction....
Please? yeah i understand that, but whats the reason behind it? More air entering engine, more fuel.
