From various forums it appears that AVG 9.0 disables Microsoft Defender. Is there any way to stop that behavior?

They keep adding unnecessary bulk and don't have that great of a detection record either .

For that I switched Avira Guard to "manual" in services.
I have NOD32 working real-time and I have Avira for on-demand.
Is not so good.

*Premium* (che è a pagamento), quindi conviene sempre usare AVG...

I never used or trusted MSE, I used....
Never heard of microsoft security essentials, is it better than AVG free? I personally like MSE I no longer have a dog in that fight.
I don't know if Avira was ever the best, but MSE is a no brainer...

Avira hat mir zu oft rumgezickt.
MSE ist.
Avast auch teilweise bei Netzwerk.
AVG bremst gewaltig.
Finde ich deutlich besser.

I have just installed Windows7 and put the latest version of AVG8.5 (free) on there, which claims to be compatible. However, it seems to slow the machine right down. I have not installed the Link Scanner.

Maybe some for the system and applications if it is? I know when I installed AVG 8 on my old XP desktop, it was the straw that broke the camel's back AFA as....
I've installed AVG on the public beta release in a VM and it just worked.
