The electronics dont really make a difference in tonal quality for most acoustic guitars if played without an amp.

But, for the same reason you use .009s on your acoustic, I use .012s on my preference and yours is on the other end.
I say as long as you now enjoy playing acoustic guitarI have agree with you.
