Pesos would make it easier you quite a bit more.
If you can take pesos and american never had a problem its up to you i guess.
At least $1.00 (20 pesos) per drink.

Buying a sim card If you are not in a rush for a SIM card, you can just buy it for around 40 pesos with no load at a 7 Eleven and then buy the corresponding load with it. Lots of places will sell SIM cards and load.

I am not a senior citizen yet but I hope to be one day. I was not aware that foreigners pay more at the Bailenaro until I read about it this weekend.
... A large part of the foreign residents in the Ribera are senior citizens...

The (mexican) senior citizen visitors to the Bailenario pay 90 pesos, but they charge the foreign senior citizens 50 pesos more, so that they have to pay 140.00 pesos.
