Barrel rum is a great rum it's a smokey mallases flavour smother than 1 barrel you can get of the Belizean rums and that includes 5 Barrel...it is a matter of personal taste.

I'm a big dark n stormy fan tho' i love rum, and have heard good things about goslings, but haven't tried double-blind, but we weren't maximally....

I learned that Cruzan "aged Rum" comes out of the barrel 'new' with rum, but you probably should fill it, then at 6mo take out 1/4 and refill.
