For someone who would like to be able to use a child's or infant car seat *other* than one of the Porsche-branded ones... I removed the male buckle from an old, expired Porsche car seat.

Clicking the buckle into the receiver is how the airbag deactivator will "know does....
deactivation bar was, indeed, the *only* way to deactivate the passenger airbag in our Boxster for safe deactivation system.

Have you had the center trim"18" is not a complete code .
This shows as the PAD ( Passenger Airbag Deactivation ) warning lamp.

When I start the car(nobody in the passenger seat) the light comes on with the rest of the dashboard lights, but then goes off. If I don't have a passenger, should that light remain on? Can someone check theirs?

The weight of an adult will not.
A child or child seat will disable the airbag.
The passenger airbag is disabled because of the weight detected in the seat.

My child seat is located on the left hand side rear seat, in the event of an accident, will the side airbags deploy?
I understand the front pax airbag is deactivated if the seat is unoccupied.. but I'm not sure about the curtain airbags..
