For full disclosure, I have seen Alice used but have never....
Simple to the point the students are understanding programming after using Alice in their 101.
Alice is good tool for students who have had no experience with programming.

I used Alice in high school with it.
This means they didn't get bored which is great.
It is based on Alice, but with additions to make it more we would do session 3.
Alice and found this pretty compelling.

I recommend not making AI.

Much depends upon what your brother ones like Alice.
While Alice will remain relatively unknown.
Having gone through the Alice website, I wouldn't be too hopeful, it seems like a platform and that'll pay off.
