"Alien" prequel confirmed... By Tony Scott, brother of Ridley, the director of the original movie.
Apparently they will be on board as producers for the prequel with a new-comer music video director (Carl Rinsch) as director.

Are you sure this is a prequel? The last I heard was there was talk of them doing a remake of Alien-alone sci-fi film that is not going to be an Alien prequel, but a film that will either take place be interesting.

I'm really interested in this, the Alien series is one avenue in Sci-Fi that's always had some good meat on the bones. It may have went a tad of course with the last film and the AvP films didn't do any good to the reputation.... But anyway.

Twentieth Century Fox have decided to revisit another wounded franchise and bring the Alien back to our screens, in what it reportedly intended to be a prequel to the existing movies.
